Freeway becomes a part of Movement Software

Movement Software has acquired Freeway Fleet Systems, the UK specialist in fleet maintenance and asset management software.

Göteborg - 20 October 2026

Freeway becomes part of our Public Mobility business area, adding proven fleet management expertise to the group and extending our reach into southern Africa, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region.

Software that keeps fleets safe, compliant and running

Freeway’s enterprise platform covers the full maintenance cycle in one system: scheduling, defect management, workshop and supplier management, parts and stores, purchasing, fuel data and cost analysis. Its mobile apps for driver checks, engineer inspections, electronic job cards and timesheets replace paper-based processes with real-time visibility across engineering and operations. Major bus and coach operators and other road transport companies rely on Freeway for its flexibility and outstanding support.

A natural fit for Public Mobility

Every public transport service starts with a vehicle that is ready to run, which puts fleet maintenance at the operational heart of public mobility. Freeway connects directly with the real-time passenger information and operator fleet management tools already in our Public Mobility business, creating practical synergies from day one.

“Freeway is a great fit with Movement Software. Fleet maintenance is what keeps public transport running, and Freeway slots straight into the Public Mobility platform we’re building,” says Per Stenman, Business Area Director Public Mobility at Movement Software. “Together, we can build more, sell more and deliver faster than either of us could alone.”

Continuity for customers, new opportunities for growth

Freeway will continue to operate under its own brand, with the same team, products and service its customers know. At the same time, it gains access to the investment, expertise and shared platforms of the wider Movement group, along with a network of operators across Northern Europe. In the other direction, Freeway’s footprint opens new markets for Movement’s complementary solutions.

“Joining Movement Software gives us a real opportunity to do more for our customers and to take Freeway into new markets,” says Patrick Tandy, Managing Director of Freeway. “It will allow us to build, grow and deliver faster with partners who truly know this industry. We are genuinely stronger together.”
